Flannel : Garage | Boots : Timberland | Leggings : Zara | Sweater : Winners |
Getting all autumn'd up. Been loving this traditional lumberjack flannel that belongs to my little sister. I've always loved the classic red and black flannels but i haven't ever been able to find one for some reason. Thankfully, my little sister prevailed and found this one from Garage.
And what's fall without timberlands? I'm so happy I could whip these bad boys out again. I love how I feel when I wear them. Like I can just stomp around and be unbeatable.

HOW TO DISTRESS YOUR JEANS (and look like a cool muthafucka)
16:27
I haven't posted a tutorial, or a how-to for quite some time now, so I thought I would hop back on that train and teach you guys something new !
There's a million different ways to do this, but this is just how I distressed my jeans, with some tools that I had lying around at home.
So of course, start out with a pair jeans that you want to give a badass edge to. I chose this pair of blue jeans that I picked up from the thrift store. They're originally from guess.
It's a little hard to see but on my right knee (in the above picture) I used a sharpie and drew two black lines. This is how large I want the distress to be. For this specific one, I lined it up with my knee.
Then, you can pick another place you want distressing. I ended up only doing two holes, one on the knee, and one on my left upper thigh, as you can see above.
So here are the tools I used. A pair of sharp scissors or fabric sheers, tweezers, and a nail file. It was definitely quite a bit harder to work with the nail file, so if you want the job done quicker and easier, opt to go out and buy some sand paper or a sand block. I just didn't want to spend extra money on this project, so I spent a little extra time and effort and used my nail file.
So the first thing I did was take the nail file and sand down the fabric where I want the hole. Make sure you sand around the two lines (above and below) and not just within the lines, because once you start making the hole, the roughing will not show anyways. The reason you want to sand down between the lines is just so the threads might pull out easier. You'll see what I mean in a bit.
So with our scissors, cut along the two black guidelines we drew. This is where the sharp scissors come in.
And then between those guide lines, start cutting the fabric into strips. You can do as many or as little as you want, it will all come out to the same result. Here is where you decide the width of your hole and the shape. If you want a certain part to widen then make the cut longer, and vice versa.
So here is the tedious part. You see that little blue string that's on my middle finger. You're going to pull all of those strings out of the pants. So you see where the bottom of that peice of string is? there's a little gap in the blue jeans. A long the edges of all the cuts you made, you'll see little blue strings fraying out. Take your tweezers and your time to pull out each individual blue bit.
Jeans are made by these little vertical blue strings being woven into horizontal white strings. By pulling out the vertical blue strings, we are leaving the horizontal white strings intact, creating the "distress" look.
Take your time pulling these strings out. Don't try to pull out too many at a time. I usually do one at a time or two at a time. When you try to be hasty and pull out too many at a time, you can accidentally rip the horizontal white strings, which will mess up the distressing (if you rip too many).
NOTE : don't do this on your bed. It took me forever to clean up all the little blue strings afterwards ):
And after all the pulling of strings, if there are still edges that look a little too straight, I would go back in with the nail file and rough up those edges a bit.
Go ahead and also rough up the edge of your pockets and put some distressing in the back pocket as well to complete the look.
So this is the end result ! the whole on my upper thigh, aaaannnnnndd....
... the one on my knee. I made this one a little more open and 'exposed' just because I really love the look of big distresses at the knee.
Hope you guys enjoyed this little how-to,

SEATTLE WEEKEND TRIP
03:34Jacket : boutique in hk || Shorts : same boutique || Bag : Rebecca Minkoff || Shoes : I was wearing Jordans || Shirt : Winners |
Last weekend, I went on a trip with a group of friends to seattle to watch the Drake VS. Lil Wayne concert in Auburn, Washington. We stayed in West Seattle just because we thought that it would be a little more convenient for any shopping, eating, and adventure needs we may have. I wish I took some pictures of the little house we stayed in (thanks steve for letting us rent out your beautiful home for the weekend!) because it was the most perfect, adorable, little character home. I definitely should've taken more pictures in general of my little weekend adventure, but I was too busy enjoying the little getaway, so this is all you get !
A little OOTD intermission for y'all. I didn't get a proper picture of any of my outfits (this picture is actually the best one) because I was busy snapping pictures for my friends, but this is better than nothing right?
Jacket : a little boutique in HK
shorts : ^ same boutique.
Bag : Rebecca Minkoff
Shoes : I was wearing Jordans
Shirt : Winners (you'll see a bit of it in pictures below)
After we got all settled in and unpacked, we went to go look for food. We drove along Alki ave, and found this cute little Fish & Chips place by the beach. We all got fish and chips to-go and brought it to the beach to eat.
Took everyone forever to find parking, but here's the crew rolling in after 30 minutes of driving around.
Btw, most of these pictures are just going to be of my friends. Like I said, I was busy paparazzi-ing my friends so this is what y'all get. But seriously, look at my very stylish friends.
Eating on the beach ! The clam chowder in a bread bowl was AMAZING. definitely check out Spud Fish & Chips if you're in Seattle. I think the fact that it's right by the beach makes it that much more appealing and delicious.
Our amazing Lunch view. I don't know what it is, but the waters in Seattle just looks way more blue than the waters in Vancouver. What's going on Van? Get your shit together.
Had some left over bread, so of course the 5 year old in me ran to go feed the seagulls that were circling our little picnic. I also made friends with this kid that was also feeding birds. We shared bread and a bond. It was cute.
Awkwardly trying to blend in with these kids. They were so cute I wanted to take them home. (but not actually, please don't arrest me.)
So here's adorable couple number one. These are my friends, Max and Linda. They are fucking adorable. Their love gives me hope. But also make me really jealous and sad.
Another picture of the guys in our crew. Goofy ass motherfuckers. Great crew to be in Seattle with though.
Later that night, we had Crab Pot for dinner, down at Pike Place Market. I've had it before with my family so I knew what I wanted to get. I had tried the whole bucket of seafood deal before so this time I decided to try their pasta instead. I ordered the Blackened Seafood Tortellini in Rose Sauce. The Rose Sauce was average, kind of tasted like generic grocery store bought rose sauce, but the tortellini was el dante, the salmon was AMAZING (I love blackened anything... mmm cajun) so overall, I still enjoyed my meal a lot.
The next day we went back by the beach to eat at this restaurant called Cactus. It serves the most amazing mexican food. I think out all the food I had in Seattle, Cactus was definitely my favourite one. I'll put the link here so you can go check it out. Anyways, we went by the beach again and took more quirky pictures. More pictures of the loving couple except you can witness the goofiness of the rest of the guys first hand in these ones.
Some more goofy photos for y'all except with me in them this time !

AFTER SCHOOL THIRSTY THURSDAYS. + OOTD
02:14
Got off school early today, and my bestfriend and I decided to go explore our city a little. I brought my camera so I can capture our Thirsty Thursday adventures.
This is our gorgeous Gastown. This place still impresses me every time I visit. I love walking down Water st. during the fall and winter time. It's the way the lights twinkle in the trees, and the antique-y feel of the street lamps... it all just sums up to the coziest holiday vibe.
Okay, I had to take a picture of this. LAMBORGHINI MERCY, YOUR CHICK SHE'S SO THIRSTY(thursdays).
Went to visit Gaulder's Mews and Blood Alley. The history of Gastown is so rich and amazing.
FACT : there used to be jail house in the area, and prisoners were actually executed near by. So the combination of the deaths, and the butchers that would poor buckets of blood down the alley, this alley is named for good reason.
So because this blog is usually about beauty and fashion and all that jazz, thought I would give you guys a little ootd.
Sweater : thrifted
Lace Shorts : China
Green Socks : Ardenes
Bootes : Just Fab
Bag : Zara
And then Bae and I discovered an amazing little hole in the wall called Gringo. If you ever are in Vancouver or you live in Van, you should definitely go check it out. It's in Blood Alley Square. (google it)
and of course, to honour Thirsty Thursday, I had to get myself a lovely alcoholic beverage. (you can tell I don't drink very often just by the fact that I call drinks "alcoholic beverages")
Anyways, this lovely number is called the Michelada. It's Lager, Tomato and Lime Juice, and a Chili Salt Rim. Pretty yummy. Caesars are one of my favourites so this was purrrrfect.
and then for food, I got this awesome little deal. Quesadillas and Mexi Rice for 9 bucks. SO good. The Quesadillas are so delicious and heavenly cheesy. And the Mexi Rice ... PERFECTLY seasoned. it was cheap & delicious food heaven. GO THERE. NOW.
And then of course walking through vancouver, we had to visit at least ONE head shop. BUT FOR REALS. LOOK AT THESE FUCKING BONGS. WHAT.
Then we found the gates to hell. It was pretty intense. Think we avoided it for one more day.
We found this entire alley FILLED with graffiti. So of course we had to take more hipster pictures.
And that was pretty much our little Thirsty Thursday Adventure. I think I'll be doing more Thirsty Thursdays in the next little while. I'll try to find more cool little places to show you guys, as well as more OOTDS.
I'll leave you guys with a picture of the view I have when I am waiting for the bus.
Can you guess which intersection I'm on?
Until next time lovers,
